Dual PC Streaming - No extra hardware required
Dual PC Streaming - No extra hardware required
A dual PC streaming setup doesn’t have to start with an expensive capture card. In this video I walk through the whole process of getting your gaming and streaming machines working together — using NDI over your local network instead of a capture card.
Quick note on what this covers
We go end to end, from the hardware you actually need to the software that ties it together:
- Hardware requirements — what both PCs need, and why you probably already have it
- How to connect everything — the cabling and network basics
- NDI setup on the gaming PC — sending the feed over your LAN
- NDI setup on the streaming PC — receiving it and taking over the encoding load
- OBS Studio setup — getting your scenes and encoder ready on the streaming side
- OBS NDI plugin — the piece that makes the two machines talk to each other
- Microphone setup — routing your mic from the streaming PC to the gaming PC
- Final thoughts — what I’d do differently
The result is a second PC that owns all the streaming work, so your gaming PC can focus on gaming — without spending a cent on a capture card.
